Graduated in Business Administration from Universidade Católica de Salvador (UCSal), in Bahia; holds a graduate degree in Marketing and HR from Universidade Salvador (UNIFACS); Business Management specialization from INSEAD, in France (RETIRAR), and a master’s in Business Administration from Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA). Specialized in the administration of local and multinational chemical and petrochemical major companies operating in Brazil and elsewhere. With a career spanning more than 35 years, he has gained experience in the human resources, IT, finance, supplies, labor relations, communication, community relations, legal, business management, factory commissioning and decommissioning and corporate governance due to his experience with Dow Química Aratu, Acrononitrila do Nordeste (Rhodia), Dow Corning Silinor, Pronor/Nitrocarbono/Propet (now Braskem), Monsanto do Brasil. Started his career as an intern with Dow in 1979 before rising to management positions in the following years. He was general manager of Dow Corning Silinor’s hydrolysis plant in Bahia from 1989 to 1992, corporate administrative manager of Pronor/Nitrocarbono/Propet from 1992 to 1999, and senior management representative for building and commissioning Monsanto’s plant in the Camaçari Industrial Complex, in Bahia, from 1999 to 2002. In 2003, he became Cristal’s Human Resources business partner and was a member of its board of directors from 2005 until 2014. He has also served as a member of the fiscal council of the Camaçari Industrial Complex Companies Association and was the executive vice president and chairman of the fiscal council of ABRH-Ba for several years and chair of the Strategic Personnel Management Committee of the Bahia Section of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) in 2012/13. |

Graduated in Law from Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA), with specialization in Civil Procedural Law and Civil Law, both from Universidade Salvador (UNIFACS). He has worked as the Company’s legal manager since July 2005. In April 2009, he became a member of the Board of Directors. Worked as legal manager for: Veracel Celulose, Bompreço Bahia S.A. (supermarket/hypermarket chain in the state of Bahia), Arthur Andersen S/C and Unifacs, in which he was also a Law professor. He has also worked at the State of Bahia Employers Federation (FIEB) and is a member of the Legal Advisory Committee of the Brazilian Association of Chemicals Companies (ABIQUIM) and vice-president of the Legal Committee of the Bahia Section of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM). |

He has extensive global exposure and has participated in several global technology and business teams in the United States, Germany, France, England, the United Arab Emirates and China, including recently participated in the process of acquiring one of the group’s industrial plants in China. He currently serves as General Director at Tronox Brazil. Spent approximately 20 years managing large contracts involving complex negotiations, large amounts of capital and differing interests. Auditor registered in a CNAI – Cadastro Nacional de Auditores Independentes, CVM – Comissão de Valores Independentes and IBRACON – Instituto dos Auditores Independentes, where he served as President of the ninth regional and as a Director for 6 years. Speaks, writes and reads well in English. He worked as a professor in undergraduate and graduate courses at Unifacs, in the components of the Administration area with an emphasis on Accounting. |
